What can ITIL do for you?

Many public sector organizations have recognized the importance of implementing best practices based on the ITIL framework, which is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world.

ITIL provides a cohesive set of best practices, drawn from the public and private sectors internationally. It is supported by comprehensive qualifications, accredited training programs, and implementation and assessment tools. ITIL processes are categorized into eight major areas or “books,” including service support, service delivery, planning to implement service management, application management, security management, ICT infrastructure management, software asset management and The Business Perspective.

The benefits of ITIL in the public sector include:
Reduced costs
Improved IT services through the use of proven best practice processes
Improved customer satisfaction through more professional service delivery
Standards and guidance
Improved productivity
Improved use of skills and experience
Improved delivery of third-party services.

Because the public sector has its own unique IT challenges, the Center for Maximum Public Performance is seeking insights from collaborative partners on ITIL implementation in their public-sector organizations. To contribute to the dialogue, please email us at partnership@cmpp.net
